Zoom Worship Schedule
April 18 – Rev. Anne Hepburn
April 25 – Lisa Norman LLWL
May 2 – Rev. Anne Hepburn
May 9 – Volunteer/Ideas*
May 16 – Rev. Anne Hepburn
*There are five Sundays in May. Instead of preaching on her third Sunday, Anne is using those hours to attend meetings, take care of Pastoral Care needs, as well as fellowship or workshop events. We need volunteers to plan and deliver a worship service or an action Sunday activity (such as a food drive, yard cleanups or letter writing campaign – something that would be of service to our community or the wider world). Please let me know your ideas and time commitments you are willing to contribute.
Services – The glitches continue but they only add to the fun we’re having! We invite everyone to join our zoom services as you are able. If you can’t be there Sunday morning, check out the church youtube channel to watch our recordings.
How about hosting? – Would you like to gain some experience hosting zoom meetings? Starting in May, I am looking for volunteers to take on some of our Sunday worship meetings. Please let me know if you are interested as I am not able to do every week. Attendees have a good sense of humour and are very forgiving.
Newish! starting April 11th – Abigail Campbell will be leading Jr. Church at 11 a.m. following the zoom service and using the same zoom connection as the service. Children are invited to join in for their special worship time together.
Vacancies – We are quickly approaching critical problems due to lack of human resources. Please prayerfully consider how you might help!
A brief description of all positions can be found in the March 31 and April 4 newsletters. To date, none of these positions have been filled.
Pulpit Supply Assistant, Mission Board Recording Secretary, Region Representative.
Worship Team (several openings), Chair M&P committee, Vice Chair of the Mission Board.

Greetings to Dunsford!
I look forward to joining you all again on Sunday.
Two weeks ago, I set up a little chapel in the basement of our house to be the zoom location for worship.
As I did, I reflected on the history of our Christian church. In the early years after Christ died the church grew slowly in the areas sometimes called the Diaspora.
In the far-flung areas where Christians gathered, it was common for groups to gather in homes to worship and eat together on the 1st day of the week after the Sabbath. So house churches are not at all uncommon but in North America they are much less familiar.
And in this time of COVID19 shutdowns, it seems rather fitting that we gather by Zoom to worship and renew relationships.
In the days of the early church there were sometimes problems between members and the community needed to find ways to stay together despite their differences. This Sunday I will talk about how we can do the same. We will learn about Holy Manners which are an effective strategy to hold each other accountable for being respectful to each other.

LifeSpeak’s April Campaign: Week Two
It’s week two of LifeSpeak’s “Getting Your House in Order” campaign. This week, the focus is on getting your work life in order.
Working from home has definitely changed most people’s approach to professional development. And for others whose work cannot be taken home, this year may have inspired you to challenge yourself, and address certain difficult conversations you may have feared in the past. This week, we focus on a variety of ways you can succeed in a work from home world, and a guide on how you can start to have these difficult conversations. You can access the campaign here.
Be sure to also join the “Ask the Expert” conversation with Shannon Lee Simmons and Bob Gavlak, Certified Financial Planners, on April 21 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. The French version will be with Jean-François Rousseau on April 22 at 12:00 pm EDT.
Stories of Our Mission: The Incredible Difference Your Gifts Make: Bill’s Story
In 1971, as a young adult who had fallen in love with nature at camp, Bill Darnell anxiously climbed on board a boat called Greenpeace with a small group of friends. Together, they set sail for the Arctic Ocean to stop the testing of a nuclear bomb, and the Greenpeace movement was born. “It was camp that really made me aware of nature and made me want to save it,” says Bill. Your Mission & Service donations support 25 United Church‒run camps across the country. Every year, your generosity gives thousands of children an opportunity to attend camp. Check out the video here.
