Dynamic Dunsford United Church Newsletter – March 24, 2021
Update from the Chair
This Sunday, March 28, is the last of Kevin Fitzpatrick’s three months with us. We are very grateful for Kevin’s contributions and are happy to see him nearing to his goal of becoming an ordained minister. There has been no confirmation yet of Kevin being able to arrange a SME but we are confident he will have a bright future and wish him all the best.
Plans for Easter Sunday, April 4, are being made with Rev. Anne Hepburn presiding over a worship service by zoom! I will be hosting and will open the zoom meeting at 9:40 a.m. for some meet and greet time with Anne. At 10:00 a.m. we will have a bit of recorded music and then begin the service. We invite everyone to join us live as you are able! The service will also be recorded so that it can be viewed later on the church YouTube channel. At least that’s the plan…
Anne has also provided some worship material for us for Good Friday which you will receive following this newsletter.
Schedule for April is as follows:
April 4 – Rev. Anne Hepburn
April 11 – Lisa Norman LLWL
April 18 – Rev. Anne Hepburn
April 25 – Lisa Norman LLWL
Anyone who is interested in acting as the board recording secretary or the region representative is asked to please let me know. Mary Lou has expressed an interest in the worship team but is not able to handle all three positions.
We continue to seek out a chair for M&P as well and there is currently no Vice Chair of the Mission Board.
Please prayerfully consider how you might help.

Dear Friends of Dunsford United Church!
I am humbled to be a part of such a wonderful congregation this many years, along with my family. You welcomed Michelle, Braeley, Kallum and I, into your fold with open arms and a loving presence, and our family became yours in each moment we spent, involved in every aspect of church life.
As I continue to venture towards Ordination, I continue to carry you all with me on my heart (you are not as heavy as you think). I was honoured to help out Dunsford, and offer some worship in the time of transition there. You as the wonderful folks of Dunsford have supported Michelle, the kids and I, as I inquired and discerned my call to Ministry and everyone in their own way supported each and every decision on this journey and encouraged me towards God’s calling, I am forever grateful. Dunsford will always be our home church. I keep the congregation in prayer as you move forward and do some discerning of your own, to see where God is leading you all in your faith journey. Keep each other in Christ’s Love as family, as you showed my family how to be a caring community, and may you hold each other in Kindness, Grace, Mercy, Peace, and in prayer as you continue to journey in your faith.
Blessings and Prayers

Invitation to Worship: Moderator’s Good Friday Service

Light a Flame for a Guaranteed Livable Income
In this video, Moderator Richard Bott invites you to join the call for a Guaranteed Livable Income and contact our Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. April 8 is a chance to make this call visible; plan to light a candle and post publicly on social media (#UCCanlivableincome) in solidarity with small outdoor vigils being held on Parliament Hill, at Minister Chrystia Freeland’s constituency office, and at other MP constituency offices.
Due to COVID-19, the vigils are restricted to locally designated individuals, and plans will be adjusted if needed. If you’d like to organize one, contact email@example.com. Take a look at the GLI webpage for more information and worship resources, and read this new blog post. And sign up to receive updates—the Cross Canada GLI network of United Church leaders is eager to connect with you!
Stories of Our Faith: New Hope and New Life
When he was 12 years old, Jesse had a traumatic brain injury. His life instantly changed because his brain didn’t function the way it once did. Sadly, three years ago, his mother (who cared for him) died of cancer. Without his mom, Jesse’s life spiraled out of control. Two years ago, he survived the winter sleeping in a storage unit. Reaching out to Stella’s Circle, a Mission & Service partner changed his life. Jesse’s story truly embodies the Easter message of transformation that began on Palm Sunday.
