Dynamic Dunsford United Church Newsletter – September 9, 2020
Mission Statement: We are a diverse, intentional, inclusive, compassionate, hope-filled Christian family of faith, seeking to respect everyone’s individuality and dignity as Jesus modelled, creating safe space, to demonstrate the spirit of God’s love through worship, work, growth, and respect for all creation. We celebrate and value people of every age, health, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, family configuration, background, ability, interest, culture, economic circumstance and faith journey. All are encouraged to be in full participation in the life and work of all ministries. We endeavor to be aware of, and responsive to, the needs in our community and beyond.

From Carol Embury, Chair of the Board:
The time has arrived! Dunsford United Church will be reopening for worship services beginning September 13 at 10 a.m.
We are pleased to offer in person worship for those who would like to attend. A printed worship guide will continue to be supplied through email and Canada Post as well. A big “Thank You” goes out to all those who have worked hard to make this possible.
This is an exciting time for our community of faith and we are proceeding with cautious optimism. Please remember to bring your mask and practise social distancing while on church property. Stay safe, be kind.
Greetings from Sharon,
I pray you are doing well and adjusting to these transitions from summer to more fall like weather, though we are appreciating the little moments of summer that linger. It is with great excitement, and priority of safety that we anticipate our first in-person worship opportunity on Sept. 13. Thank-you for your patience as we continue to figure things out and learn together. Feedback is most welcome. Please see separate note in this issue regarding opening. Please know my heart will be welcoming us all whether we are in-person, staying at home, travelling or receiving the ministries of another on-line worship opportunity. Whatever your worship choice, may you find nourishment body, mind and spirit as you worship the Lord. I miss you all so very much. Please stay safe and stay well. The effects of COVID-19 continue to impact us all. Please reach out to me to arrange for a visit, a call, text time or email catch-up.
JAMPacks for families with Young Children:
We will not be able to offer junior church at this time but are excited to have all families joining us in -person. Sharon and Cliff have created some JAMPacks to support your time with us in the sanctuary each Sunday. To help keep us all safe, each family will have a JAMPack. This is a Jesus and Me backpack. A tag with your family name will be added to each JAMPack. This means only your family will use it. Inside are markers, pencils, pencil crayons and that sort of stuff. There is a notebook for each child. Your JAMPack will stay at the church and be available for you each week your family is at Dunsford United Church.
When opportunities emerge, when public health and UCCAN say it is safe to gather for a time outside or in the church hall, one of the children from within a family bubble can take the JAMPack outside or to the hall with the junior church leaders. We also have large almost one metre hoops to help create a safe bubble. Each child will get a puzzle mat with a number on it. Each are numbered so a child can recognize his/her number and name will be added. The same mat will be used by only that child each week. These will also remain at the church.
All families are encouraged to bring additional resources from home to have at their pew, to use during worship. Feel free to keep these inside your JAMPack or to bring from home each week.
We are not permitted to sing as a group, but shakers or rhythm instruments have been placed around the church and others brought from home are welcomed. These can be used during appropriate music times.
